Great Wilderness Challenge 2025

My Story
UPDATE: I did it! 5hrs and 20min. It was hot, and the hills were bigger than I realised, and I was not nearly fit enough. It was really tough. I had a very good reason to be there though and hung onto that the whole way through. The memory of mum, and all of your support behind me, kept me going.
I'm taking part in the Great Wilderness Challenge 25 mile run to raise funds for Highland Hospice. My mum, Ann, died in June this year, due to a very aggressive cancer. We didn't have a lot of warning and the last few weeks were quite traumatic. We spent the last 3 days in the Hospice and the staff and facilities were absolutely amazing. They looked after her, and me, so well, and made our last few days together so much easier and gave so much comfort. We can never thank them enough. I want to raise as much as money as I can for them because I can't imagine going through what we did, without the support that they provided. Nobody should have to. This run will be a real challenge for me, but I will channel the strength and courage that my mum showed at the end, so we can help the Hospice to continue to help more people.
